Irrigation Installation

Irrigation System Installation for North Bend and East King County Yards

Winters here are wet, but summers can be long and dry. A new lawn, fresh plantings or a renovated backyard can struggle through July and August without the right water at the right time. A well-designed irrigation system takes care of that so your landscape gets established and stays healthy.

Landwork Enterprises designs and installs irrigation systems as part of landscape projects for homes in the Snoqualmie Valley (North Bend, Snoqualmie, Fall City, Carnation and Duvall) and in Issaquah and Sammamish. We also take on a limited number of projects in Maple Valley, Covington and the Issaquah side of Renton. We plan the watering around the landscape we're building, so every zone fits what's planted there.

Irrigation built into your landscape, not added later

The best time to put in irrigation is while the landscape is being built. The ground is already open, the plant layout is set, and the lines can go exactly where they need to without tearing up a finished yard.

That's how we approach it. When we build a full yard renovation, new planting beds or a new lawn, irrigation is part of the plan from the start. We lay out zones based on what's growing where:

Lawn areasLawn areas get coverage sized to the shape of the turf.
Planting beds, shrubs and treesPlanting beds, shrubs and trees get watering suited to their roots and spacing.
Sunny and shady areasSunny and shady areas are zoned separately, since a south-facing slope and a shaded side yard need very different amounts of water.

Every system is designed around your property's layout and zones, and we can tie into an existing system. Backflow prevention is included when it's part of an irrigation system we install.

Planned for sloped lots and Eastside soil

Many yards in North Bend, Snoqualmie, Issaquah and Sammamish are on slopes. On a hillside, water applied too fast runs straight downhill, wasting water and leaving the top of the slope dry while the bottom stays soggy. We plan zones and watering so slopes get water they can actually absorb.

Irrigation and drainage also work together. A yard that floods in winter and dries out in summer needs both handled right. Because we also build drainage and grading, we can plan for both seasons at once.

Water where it's needed, and not where it isn't

A good system puts water on the plants and lawn, not the patio, the siding or the driveway. We set heads and lines so coverage stays inside the areas that need it, and we keep spray away from walls, walkways and the house. Zoning by plant type and sun exposure also means you aren't overwatering one area just to keep another alive. That saves water and keeps the yard healthier over the long, dry stretch of summer.

    Upgrading an existing system

If you already have a sprinkler system but it no longer fits your yard, an upgrade may make more sense than starting over. That's common when:

    • •Redoing part of the yard. You're redoing part of the yard, such as adding a patio or new beds, and the old zones don't match the new layout.
    • •Uneven coverage. The original system was put in years ago and doesn't cover the yard evenly.
    • •Changing how beds are watered. You want to change how planting beds are watered as part of a landscape update.

When we upgrade a system as part of a project, we fix or replace the parts that need it along the way, so the finished system works as one plan.

A note on what we focus on: Landwork builds new irrigation systems and upgrades as part of landscape projects. We're set up for planned installation work, not small one-off service calls.

One team from design to finish

The same Landwork team handles your project from the first site visit to the final walkthrough. The people who plan your irrigation are part of the team building the rest of your landscape, so the system, the grading, the hardscape and the plantings all fit together. We've been building yards across East King County since 1987.

    Irrigation Installation FAQ

When is the best time to install irrigation?

We install irrigation year-round. The best time is during your landscape project, while the ground is open and before new lawn and plants go in.

How long does an irrigation installation take?

Every project is different. Small jobs can take a couple of days; larger renovations can run a few weeks to a few months. We'll give you a timeline with your estimate.

What does the free site visit include?

We walk the property with you, look at the areas to be watered, talk through the plants, lawn and hardscape you have in mind, and note slopes, sun and shade. We'll also look at any existing system if you're thinking about an upgrade. After the visit, we send you a written estimate. We aim to get it to you within a few days, though sometimes it takes a little longer.

    What's the installation process?

    1. Free site visit and project discussion. 2. We design the zones around your landscape plan. 3. Lines and components go in during site prep, before lawn and plantings. 4. We test each zone and adjust coverage. 5. We show you how the system works.

Can you upgrade my existing sprinkler system?

Yes, when it's part of a landscape project or a larger system upgrade, such as re-zoning around new beds or a new patio. We fix or replace parts as part of that work. We don't take small standalone service calls.

Do you install irrigation without other landscape work?

Our focus is irrigation as part of landscape projects. If you're planning a new lawn, new beds or a yard renovation, irrigation fits right in.
