Landscape Lighting for North Bend, Snoqualmie and Eastside Homes
From late fall through winter, it's dark by late afternoon. If your yard goes black at 5 p.m., you lose half the year of using it, and the paths, steps and patio you invested in disappear from view. Good landscape lighting brings that space back. It makes the yard safer to walk at night and shows off the work you've put into it.
Landwork Enterprises designs and installs landscape lighting for homes in the Snoqualmie Valley (North Bend, Snoqualmie, Fall City, Carnation and Duvall) and in Issaquah and Sammamish. We also take on a limited number of projects in Maple Valley, Covington and the Issaquah side of Renton. Because we build patios, walls and full yards, we plan lighting around how your landscape actually looks and how you use it.

What landscape lighting can do for your yard
Lighting isn't just about brightness. Done well, it's about putting light where it matters and leaving the rest of the yard soft and natural.
- •Safer paths and steps. Light the route from the driveway to the front door, garden steps and changes in grade so nobody's guessing in the dark.
- •A patio you can use after dark. Light a seating area or outdoor living space so it stays usable on long summer evenings and short winter days.
- •Show off the hardscape. Lighting along a retaining wall or the edge of a paver patio highlights the stonework and texture.
- •Highlight trees and plantings. A single light on a specimen tree or a boulder can anchor the whole yard at night.
- •Curb appeal. Front-yard lighting makes the home feel welcoming and easier to find.
Planned with your landscape
The easiest time to add lighting is while the yard is being built. Wiring can be run during grading and before patios, walls and plantings are finished, so there's no digging up new work later. When lighting is part of a full yard renovation or a new patio, we can plan fixture spots in walls and steps from the start.
Already have a finished yard? We add lighting to those too. We'll look at what's there and plan around it.
A simple approach to lighting design
More fixtures don't make a better lighting plan. Too much light flattens a yard and can shine into neighbors' windows. We'd rather use fewer, well-placed lights that guide the eye and keep the night sky dark.
When we plan a layout, we think about:
- •How you move through the yard. Paths, steps and doors come first, because that's where light keeps people safe.
- •Where you gather. A patio, fire area or deck gets enough light to use comfortably without glare.
- •What's worth showing off. A stone wall, a big tree or a boulder outcrop makes a strong focal point.
- •The view from inside. A well-lit yard looks good through the windows on a dark winter evening, too.
Lighting that holds up to Eastside weather
Outdoor lighting here has to handle months of rain, soggy ground and freezing nights. Fixtures, wire and connections all need to suit wet conditions, and fixtures set in the ground need to stay put when the soil shifts through freeze-thaw. We plan placement with drainage in mind so lights don't end up sitting in standing water.
Fixture materials, such as brass or aluminum, and controls come down to what you prefer, including options you can control from your phone.
Our lighting systems are low-voltage, so an electrician often isn't needed. If your project does need electrical work, Landwork subcontracts it.
One team from design to finish
The same Landwork team handles your project from the first site visit to the final walkthrough. The people who plan your lighting know your yard because they're part of the team building it. That means fixtures land where they make sense, not wherever the wire happened to reach. We've been building yards across East King County since 1987.
Lighting fixtures carry the manufacturer's product warranty. We don't offer a separate warranty beyond that.

Landscape Lighting FAQ
When is the best time to install landscape lighting?
Any time of year. We install lighting year-round. If you're planning a yard renovation, patio or retaining wall, it's easiest to add lighting during that project, before the finished surfaces go in.
How long does a lighting installation take?
Every project is different. Small jobs can take a couple of days; larger renovations can run a few weeks to a few months. We'll give you a timeline with your estimate.
What does the free site visit include?
We walk the yard with you, talk about how you use it at night, and look at paths, steps, patios, walls and plantings that could be lit. We'll also note where power is available. After the visit, we send you a written estimate. We aim to get it to you within a few days, though sometimes it takes a little longer. We'll walk you through the lighting plan with your estimate.
What's the process?
1. Free site visit to talk through your goals. 2. We plan the lighting around your landscape and walk you through the plan with your estimate. 3. Wiring and fixtures go in, ideally while the rest of the landscape is being built. 4. We test the lights and adjust them so the effect is right. 5. We show you how the controls work.
Can lighting be added to a patio or wall you're already building for me?
Yes. That's the easiest way to do it. Planning lighting along with a paver patio or retaining wall lets us build fixture locations right into the work.
Will the lights stand up to our rainy winters?
Yes. We plan lighting for wet, cold conditions, with fixtures placed where water drains away. We'll help you pick fixture materials that fit your yard and your taste.
